Sharing knowledge with our local community is one of our core values at Wattle + Wonder. We offer a variety of different workshops but the common theme is educating people about native plants & the value of natural habitat.

Most workshops can be adapted to be held either inside or outdoors & we cater to all age groups from young children to adults. Our workshops are hands on & full of creative inquiry & connection; ensuring that everybody has a valuable & meaningful experience.

nature journaling native plants.

Nature Journaling is a mindful practice that switches on your intentional curiosity, allows you to explore your creativity & provides an opportunity to slow down & reconnect with nature. We study a selection of local native plants & learn all about their functions & relationships with other species. These workshops are all about observation & inquiry; artistic skills are not required!

how to create a habitat garden.

This workshop covers the fundamentals of habitat gardening with a big focus on what specific native plants attract local wildlife to your garden. Learn about the different types of food & shelter that local native plants can provide & other important elements to consider. Conservation can start in your own backyard, turn your garden into an ecological refuge!

what wildflower is that?

Love native wildflowers but always stumped at what you’re actually looking at? This native plant identification workshop covers the basics of botany, the common plant families found in your region & the native plant species you might find in flower. Broaden your knowledge & enrich your experience in nature by learning how to identify native plants!

nature journaling for kids.

Nature journaling is a simple & creative way for us all to learn more about our natural world. It’s a fun activity for kids & an excellent way to develop their awareness & appreciation of nature. Nature journaling helps to develop scientific research skills & fosters curiosity & creativity while allowing us to slow down, pay attention & tune into nature.

nature crafts for kids.

Fun activities that creatively educate kids about local native plants & animals. We love to explore different themes & encourage kids to develop an understanding & love for their local environment through play. Activities include: Nature weavings, native seed bombs, seed pod crafts, nature crowns, drawing, painting & more!
